I'm taking notes from these comments. Being a minimalist seems to be the way to go. Declutter. I know when I have less stuff and everything has a designated spot it's much easier for me to keep my house clean. I just had a baby and accumulated a lot of new things that I need to go through and get rid of because my house is overrun with stuff everywhere at the moment.

I used to have a pretty messy house between cooking and kids, but then I realized when the house is messy on top of all that Iโm even more stressed out. Now I prioritize straightening up and *poof* less stress.

Provide ways for your kids to organize and model the behavior you want done. Have storage solutions in multiple areas of the house not just their rooms or play room. Make it a priority to make sure they clean up after themselves before starting new tasks. My daughter is 4 and when she throws her shoes in the floor when we come home we redirect her to put them in the mud room where they belong. Little stuff adds up to bigger things in the long run.
