One of the many things that makes me love Ilona Andrews books is their determination to have as many animals as possible in every story. Sometimes it's centuries old cats and magical poodles, sometimes it's cat burgler racoons and sleepy dragons, and sometimes it's duck-bunny-cats who belong to old Russian witches. Without fail, the heroes of their stories will do their utmost to protect and care for them, and if they are hurt, the heroes will avenge them.
