The Earth is 4.5 billion years old, and life evolved over 3.8 billion years. No need for divine intervention—just time, chemistry, and natural selection. The scientific method explains more than myths ever could.

Hi there, For the record, I have some experience in this field. Unfortunately, the trio of explanatory mechanisms you provided… Time, chemistry and natural selection…are actually far more detrimental to the process than many realize….far more detrimental (especially the chemical evolution). For the record, I am a theist (Christian) that believes in old earth and macro evolution. The issue was not age…. The issue is the creative mechanisms that began life.

I may not be knowledgeable as you, but there's no way this universe exists from nothing. Then again, are you saying, all these chemistry and natural selection happen without intelligence? It just magically, coincidentally happen?

This is a school boy error. Scientists know that the chances of life just occurring by time and chemistry alone are so unimaginably remote as to be impossible. While the basic compounds are understood, the origins are not . “ Science will never solve the mystery of nature. In the final analysis we are part of the mystery we are trying to solve .” - Max Planck. I rather suspect he didn’t have the casual approach that you adopt. Even natural selection requires an intelligent force behind it.
