In WNC region the worst areas are mostly North of I40 extending from Eastern Tennessee to East of Old Fort. The North/South band extends from the SC border area North to and beyond the State line. (I am certain that other damage has occurred outside this boundary) This is a massive area and the terrain is very difficult. Residents are located, isolated and stranded in the mountains. This makes the recovery, response and restoration much more complicated.
