I’m curious and am willing to be educated on this, for all my non-binary followers is it triggering/rude to you if someone were to use the term ‘hey guys!!’ if you were a part of that group?

I use guys for my female friends too, I feel like the word has evolved colloquially and I mostly hear it being used in a gender neutral fashion

The answer to this is always going to be 'depends on the NB person'. Some will find it offensive, some won't care. I've just tried to erase guys from my vocab tbh - I tend to say 'hi folks' now.

I've always loved J Kenji Lopez with his hey guys, gals and non binary pals

It triggers my nb spouse. I grew up where “You guys” was a gender neutral plural, and I had to stop using it entirely for them.
