I yelled at my 7 yo tonight after he hit his brother. He cried, and I felt terrible. I apologized, but he said he didn't accept my sorry. I told him that's okay, and explained that the part of him that wants to fight with people and hurt them also exists in me, and sometimes it comes out when it sees it come out in him, but that I need to do better. He told me he accepted my sorry. I still feel like an asshole, though.
