It’s easier to believe someone is a liar than to consider that your world isn’t close to what you’ve been manipulated to believe. My mother used to tell me that I was a big liar, but she was simply uncomfortable with the truth. As I grew up, I realized that I can’t say the truth to most people. It doesn’t work with their perception, it hits their nerves so that they recognize the truth and feel uncomfortable for a moment before putting the blinders back on. It creates defensiveness.
