If you’re a human with CPTSD, one of the ways to describe what has happened to you, is you did not develop adequate access to Self Energy. You did not understand how to return to it when things got chaotic or destabilized in your world.

The language here of “you didn’t develop adequate…” sounds unintentionally shame-y. Something was taken, something was removed or damaged. I probably sound combative but that’s not my intention, I just noticed what it felt like reading that part. You didn’t do a thing or you did but it was inadequate.

I heard of it being described as, your own body and mind don't feel like home and it's so accurate. You don't feel safe in either of them.
