Growing up in a city in Peninsular Malaysia, malls were my go-to places so I've always looked forward to seeing the festive décor for Hari Raya, Chinese New Year and Deepavali. Now we have Halloween décor too and this year it looks as if Deepavali is having to "compete" with Halloween. Quite a sad state to see as this is happening in Malaysia where Halloween isn't even a culture that most Malaysians celebrate. I understand the business aspect of it. I do. Whatever brings money in, right?
