10/25/21: My last day of chemo. 16 rounds. The last four were dose dense AC and sucked big time. I get defensive when people question the use of chemo. Of course there are side effects, I got a pulmonary embolism and wasn’t able to run my marathon- but guess what? My double mastectomy showed that the tumor was obliterated and I’m alive 3 years later, cancer free and watching my daughters continue to grow up. They were 14 months old when I finished chemo- they are now 4 and I feel so grateful.
