Friends and admirers of my work often suggest that I publish a book with my photos. My response is always “No.” Don’t get me wrong: I’d love to put out books with my work, but the state of the photo book world is that most publishers require that the photographer bring to the table $20k or more in cash. It’s just not worth it to me. Yes there are publishers who will pick up the tab, but those are few and far between. Mostly, those publishers print the work of well established 1/3
