Went to an influencer event and tipped my server and the cook. They were surprised but thankful that I tipped them out, even though everything was comped. There were 50-70 people there. Do you tip your server even if you were comped a meal or hosted, and you have several staff waiting on you and your table?

The meal is comped but the service still needs to be accounted for unless the hosts (PR team) of the event advised tip has already been included. When I worked in restaurants, managers at restaurants would often work these events due to not being part of the tip pool. So make sure to ask so you know!

Just because the restaurant comped the meal doesn't mean you can't show your server/bartender that you valued their part. And if you saved all that money you definitely have money to spare for a tip.
