I’ve been stunned by how many of the acquaintances I’ve been discussing the stakes of this election with basically just end up there (at “America deserves it”) when we get down to brass tacks. It’s a bummer. I think you said something to someone on here recently: “If you believe that, you’re not a leftist, you’re a nihilist.” You’re spot on and it’s the only answer this attitude.
