I hate it when people say, "you just have to try." Trying is good, but it's definitely not enough. This is a more realistic approach: Try, fail, learn, repeat.

The idea of ‘just trying’ is really harmful. You must have conviction for things to work out. Succeeding on the first try is just luck, and relying solely on it is bad advice.
