If a kettle in the UK (240 volts) takes 3 minutes (for argument’s sake) to boil 500ml of water, how long does it take in a country where mains voltage is 120?

Stoves in America run on 220V. My induction range will boil 2 cups of water from tepid to rolling boil in about 9 seconds.

How much is 500 ml? Us Yanks don't think metric, unless we are forced to work in a Asian or Euro car...

It depends also on how high above sea level you are, as water boils at a lower temperature of your on the top of a mountain. Also, mains voltage in the UK changed to 230V about 20 years ago to harmonise with the EU.

It depends on the colour of the socks of the person operating the kettle. :-)

Since the kettle doesn't work with 120V: forever!
