It was the only effective therapy that I’ve experienced. Everyone tells me to go to therapy, but I end up being my therapist’s therapist in talk/CBT, and I found it did not help with trauma at all. EMDR was an intense brain reset; it did give me fatigue, but it helped so much. I went from jumping out of my skin and screaming at perceived threats (in public) to feeling calm and able to function (even if I was surprised). I have however been kinda jumpy again recently and need another session.
