Some of you already know that I buried my cat a few months ago, it had just turned 16 when he passed. Lately i’ve been really considering digging up his skull to keep since I wasn’t able to get him cremated. Thoughts?

There is a whole hobby niche of collecting dead animals and displaying their bones. I'm considering doing the same for a cat who passed away 11 yrs ago. I think I'll be moving soon, and have decided I want him to come with me.

I wouldn't do it. That's not really a sight you'll want to see. Most people would not/ are not prepared to see the decomposed body of a loved one. There's a massive (I mean massive) difference in seeing a random skull that you aren't connected to and digging up and viewing the remains of your own cat (assuming they were actually loved). Also as already pointed out, the whole process isn't easy.

Do it! I wanted to with my dog, but we moved too soon to retrieve the corpse.
