After months away being repaired for a blown power supply, I’ve finally got my Roland RSS back in the studio. I fell in love with the idea of having sounds coming from beyond the speakers after seeing one of these being used on a BBC program in the 80s, Tomorrow’s World. Although we mix as default in 5.1, this box of tricks is still unbeatable for placing sounds in stereo, way out to the sides so it just tickles behind your ears. Perfectly timed to use on some new album tracks.
