Honest question: Why does it seem like people in Europe are so much happier than in the U.S.? I’ve been in Europe for a week and the people genuinely feel healthier, nicer, and less stressed. What are they doing differently?

I would just like to say I do *not* hate America. But here's my reasons: 1. Free health care in the UK. It's not perfect, but it's free. 2. We might have some posh rich Eton school boys fighting over who to run our country, but at least they're not Trump. 3. Women have control of their bodies more here. 4. It might not be the best weather, but tornadoes and hurricanes aren't really a thing. 5. We can have nice cheese. 6. 4 weeks annual leave plus bank holidays

I moved to the UK about two years ago from the US. I can honestly say there is nothing other than family and the few friends I have that I miss. I don’t live paycheck to paycheck and I don’t have a high paid job. I use public transport (bus and train) or walk. I don’t miss my car. I actually get to travel because I have paid time off that I am encouraged to take. I now have cancer and I don’t have to worry about going bankrupt over it.

Europe is not a country. It's a very large continent with 40+ very different countries and cultures.

They eat better quality food and their cities and towns are walkable and they have excellent mass transit plus it doesn’t cost 80k€ for college

Traveling for work or pleasure? In parts of EU there are communities with strengths in areas where the US could improve, I’m sure. But if you yourself are more stressed back home, it might be your lens. & where in the US compared to where in EU? Too broad(+I’m just curious). To a stranger, individuals in cutthroat nyc probably don’t seem as happy as folks somewhere uber-friendly like Denver, for example. I may be way off the mark in this situation. In which case my contribution is B)US POLITICS😵💫
