I was at Costco in Atlanta and the wyt man walked up to me as I’m scanning my items asking if I needed help with scanning my plants as if I was stealing them. I already scanned them and he didn’t even apologize. I couldn’t even relax. I never went back and didn’t renew my subscription. That’s some bull 💩

THANK YOU. “Engage with the customers” they tell us but NO. NO ONE WANTS THAT. (Except maybe 80-year olds.) Customers will have a BETTER experience if we leave them alone. I don’t know how to explain that to bosses without seeming like I just want to work less. Trust me, that’s not it, I genuinely enjoy customer service and LOVE having conversations with customers, but only if they approach first! Otherwise I’m just bothering them and lessening their experience.

And the email recepit thing? Yeah this is sold under the guise of ‘going paperless’ and ‘bettering the enviroment’ but even the customers are mad that they’re being made to give over personal data that goes straight into a marketing mail list. Customers know that companies think they’re stupid enough to get away with it, and I got a lot of harassment over that one when my targets were based on that a lot. Let customers say no!

Every time someone posts something like this is becomes so obvious how many people in the world are privileged enough to have never had to work a retail job. We’re doing our best to meet the demands of our bosses and our customers so we can pay our bills, it’s soooooo easy to just be kind and polite as a customer or shop online if you’re not capable of human decency.
