I took my daughters door off once for about 3 days because she was told multiple times to stop slamming her door. She was warned if she slammed it again, she’ll have no door. Once the door was back on, she’s never slammed it again. I still respected her space/privacy when the door was off. But she learned to figure out a better way to communicate when upset. Which lead to being more respectful than disrupting everyone in the home because she’s having a moment.
