Different duration of makeup time, more detailed, different techniques, and more responsibility to make the best out of the bride.

More time invested from contracts, to day of. I spend more dedicated time with the bride to not rush or have her stressed gives room for crying, changing her mind on her look etc…

Tends to take that little more time on the day, Usually more unsociable hours, very early starts, much more time discussing back and forth before the actual booking date, Sometimes having to stay all day, Travel expense if over so many miles , Xx

The same reason venues and every other vendor: supply and demand. We can only do one wedding a day. It would be bad business sense to not have a minimum or higher price than low demand days. Plus, brides take a lot more of our time from beginning to end. We also have to honor our commitment months to years out. Get married on Wednesday and it’s a lot cheaper.

Brides typically require a higher level of communication and support throughout the process. I pay an administrative assistant on an hourly basis to help manage these interactions. Additionally, there are often numerous changes to timelines, locations and the wedding party leading up to the day of. It’s important to note that brides experience significant stress during this time. As MUA’s, we don’t just apply makeup to enhance their beauty on their special day, we also provide emotional support.

Admin, brochures, expertise (it’s a different skill to party makeup) being on hand for questions sometimes 2 years in advance. Early call times (3am sometimes!) years of experience…
