A lot of if comes from third wave feminism which has caused a lot of women to feel superior to men or to treat men poorly, you will see things like manipulation alot, on top of that the "sexual revolution" leading to hookup culture and women having high body count make men find them to be less trust worthy or truly focused on starting a relationship so we tend to steer clear, not all men think this way but a good number of us do, we look for trustworthy traits and values we share.
