Walking home from a run this morning, a little later than usual… I passed several neighbors. Every time, I said good morning, figuratively tipped a hat, or at some level tried to make eye contact and smile. None of them even looked up. Not one. Almost like they were afraid of me or angry. Except 2 ladies wearing Middle Eastern headwear who waved at me and said good morning with huge open and warm smiles. I know this is anecdotal. Not scientific. But are Americans unfriendly?
