A reminder that the musical production that followed the 2005 movie reboot of The Producers had long runs in both Germany and Israel. And yes, it’s probably because “Springtime For Hitler” is one of the most hilariously subversive songs in a musical ever. Not just for the meta-level humor, not just because it’s 100% clear who the joke is at the expense of, but because it’s just well done. It’s hilarious when a song lyric gives away the punchline in the next line; they do that plenty there.
