You pretty much have to be allergic to verifying your own beliefs at this point to continue to think that generative AI works like a search engine and that outputs are "amalgamations". The worst part is, I don't even think this is something pushed by a particular misinformation vector, it's just peoples' "gut feeling" on how it works that they never attempt to verify.
