Ok literary friends, settle a debate for me. I’m not a big fan of posting random questions on here but I’m curious to hear thoughts.
I’ve always been a fan of Kipling and loved the poem White Man’s Burden, but I loved it because I have always been under the assumption Kipling was being deeply ironic. Like A Modest Proposal, except criticizing British colonialism instead of treatment of the poor.
