This is right. What we demanded from the Washington Post, what they marketed themselves as, is a bulwark against illiberalism and fascism. That’s not negotiable. If they cave so easily they are worse than useless. I think the message should be that we won’t tune in for mere spectacle. We will support you only if you are fighting the fight.
