When I first moved to Georgia, I had a California attitude. We don’t think we have one, but we do—like not realizing we have accents.
The South humbled me. Moving here opened my eyes to just how crazy the assumptions are in California about the South.
So, one day, I’m in San Jose with my brother, out to eat, and I mention to the waitress that it’s been almost 14 years since I’ve been back to California.
