Can someone help me understand why we must go to our PCP for referrals? It feels so inefficient and like a money draw. But, I want to believe there’s a benefit to this — it’s for our good in some way — right?! For context, we need to get my 12yo in to see our PCP as a follow-up to today’s ER visit but the next available appt isn’t until Jan 🤯. On the phone I mentioned we actually may need to see x specialist and was told we’d still need to see the PCP for the referral 🥴🙃.
