There’s nothing wrong with privilege and it takes many forms. Everyone has a right to the arts. But London is increasingly expensive to live in & competition is so high in comedy that clubs / promoters are naturally more exploitative: wages are lower. Trial spots longer. Unpaid spots are often given as reward for helping (unpaid) clubs & promoters do the bucket and emails. Who can afford to work for free x 2?
