I’m completely fine with having Kei trucks on the roads to satisfy the urbanites, but only so long as every safety and emissions standard is rescinded. It’s only fair.

The kei truck is bad, but they let the emissions nightmare that was the Hummer H1 on the road. Kei trucks are bad, but they let the Tesla Cybertruck without any crumple zones, which is a MAJOR safety hazard, on the road. Kei trucks are bad, but they let the explosive fireball that was the Ford Pinto on the road. Kei trucks are bad, but they let any semi or pick-up truck blow coal on the road. It's almost like the emissions and safety of the kei trucks aren't even remotely a problem.

The only reason American trucks are so big is so that car companies didn't have to deal with the emissions and fuel consumption standards. If car companies just stayed within those parameters we wouldn't have huge human crushing trucks on the roads all the time we'd have the same trucks we started with back in the 60s. Nice small compact with long beds still able to pull whole boeing 747s across the airstrip
