Even as fictional superheroes go, Superman is unrealistic. He can fly, has laser vision, can burn through metal and can freeze water. His powers are too varied to be factual. The sheer variety, from super strength and laser vision to ice breath and flight, defies our sense of what's possible even in the most fantastical worlds. Most superheroes have a more cohesive power set based on a single theme or source—like Spider-Man's spider-based abilities or Wolverine's regenerative healing.
