The last thing my mom said to me was Los Angeles Dodgers. She was 3 months into ICU/Hospice stays after a long illness. Towards the end she couldn’t really talk much and wasn’t aware of what was happening. But every day I would wear this hat. And it was something that helped her know it was me. And she would read the hat, saying the name over and over. It was her anchor. And her way of trying to communicate. She raised me to love baseball, especially the Dodgers.
