Speaking as a Californian and as a Mexican-American, I don’t think we have the best Mexican food in the U.S. Arizona and New Mexico are better, at least in my opinion.

Frankly I think all the border states have excellent Mexican food as well as Mexican-influenced food. I don’t think they’re necessarily better or worse, just unique and distinct, but it’s all yummy.
