Ironically, it has taken the dire situation in America to remind me how fortunate I am to live in NZ. 1} Mandated paid annual, sick, maternity, and bereavement leave. Paid overtime A welfare system that stops the vulnerable from falling through the cracks A relatively free health system. Free operations. Free prescriptions (mostly) Don't worship the rich Relatively egalitarian society Spectacular scenery We are far from perfect, but I have a renewed appreciation for what we have.
