Not sure if they’d be good with a five year old, but the Scribblenauts games are a lot of fun. They’re puzzle games where you can create almost any object by writing it in the magic notebook your character carries. Need a purple firefighter riding a t-rex for something? You can have one.

Minecraft. I started both my kids on it when they were 4 (they are 15 and 17 now and we all still play). Best game for creativity, design, problem solving, cooperation, conflict resolution, resource management, engineering...
