Ayyy! 🎉 I didn’t want to spend a tonne of money buying a new PS5 controller, so I found a dead one on Mercari for 3,500 yen with the description “Won’t turn on. Selling as junk”. I took it apart, cleaned the interior, and reseated the battery, and the controller started flashing. I then plugged it into the PS5 which told me it needed a firmware update. One update later and it’s fully functional again! 🎉 Buying broken hardware is risky, but feels so good when you manage to revive them. :D
