Michael's does the same thing. Spool of ribbon in the store, $12.99, spool off ribbon you order online for pickup, $6.49. It's ridiculous.

Forever 21 always refused to honor online prices for in store items and also wouldn't do price adjustments. Haven't shopped there in years because of that.

Target will price match their online price. You just have to ask. I've also had them price match something that was on Amazon. I do think that the online price and in-store price should automatically be the same, but I think they don't do that because they can charge more and people won't notice.

Online prices only apply to online purchases. It’s indicated on the site.

Mass market retailers have no incentive to provide you with above and beyond service, since people have overwhelmingly demonstrated that they will continue to go back to a store where they KNOW they will have a bad experience. Online selling is also more cost effective, hence the lower pricing.

There is some context needed, but as you stated it, the store literally violated Walmart's price match policy. They should be able to price match Walmart.com prices so long as the item is sold and shipped by Walmart (not a 3rd party Marketplace seller), in stock (available for shipping via Walmart) and not on any form of special pricing (clearance, Black Friday).
