Ok I’ve been seeing all these posts about the Astrid casting. And while yes, the blatant race swapping in Hollywood to hit a diversity quota needs to stop, she looks white. And they will probably do things to make her look more like the character hair wise but otherwise it’s not a terrible choice. Something I disagree with a lot of people on is this: even if the movie isn’t specifically about cultural struggles of a specific race, the race of the original is still important to the story. /1
