I strongly recommend against this – the tools and yarn you get at the dollar store are cheap, but that's all they are. There's a good chance you'll give crochet or knitting a go and end up thinking that you hate it, when what you actually hate are crap tools and nasty acrylic yarn. Good value tools and yarn are available, but very rarely at dollar stores.
