Like after 40, take away the old peoples keys. Their head ain’t right anymore

Imo in the same way a young person has to take a test to prove that they are competent to drive, as a 60 y.o. I personally feel you should be reassessed by a driving instructor, with a report submitted to the DVLA, at, say 65 and every 5 years there after. Whether others agree or not, it cannot be denied that with age everything changes, eye sight, hearing, reaction time, our driving standard etc. And if you were to fail the assessment more than twice then maybe time to sell the car 🤔

How are we defining elderly?

Because they go the speed limit, And obey traffic laws?

Neither should some younger so called drivers

If yhey have their eyesight and mental capacity there’s no reason why they can’t drive They are probably better drivers than many much younger ones You will get old far quicker than you can possibly imagine

Such a didactic statement. Individuals vary with health and ability. I’m 86 and have no elderly traditional illnesses, 20 20 vision Recently sold my sports car for a car with aircon as Sydney’s high temperature and humidity is really becoming nasty due to climate change.

Utter rubbish,it’s down to the abilities of the individual,some folk are clueless,just look around,I don’t know how some managed to pass a driving test.
