Buying championships will always be hollow. The dodgers owe deferred money to 4 player now. The dodgers annual deffered money is greater than the salary of several MLB teams. Name another sport that allows this? If they don’t win 130 games a year it’s a failed team.

Some by being cheap som, like the Dodgers, Mets and Yankees do that by outspending their competitors. That is market driven. It’s a business and owners aren’t dummies they just do what will drive ROI within their market.

And again, every team but one is own by a billionaire. If they want to treat the team like passive income and deny the fanbase championships that on those owners. They all could defer but won’t.

The Dodgers have more revenue for many reasons but their payroll was the 5th highest for 2023 because they spend a higher percent to take care of their players. Everyone who is saying that they are buying championships, I'd love to know what you really think should happen?
