I've been called a "fake reader" because I haven't read ACOTAR. (Yet. I have a copy in my tbr. It's been there a while.) I started reading as a kid and just never stopped. I was the kid who snuck a book outside during recess. I had a kindle the minute they were released. I used to hit up the used bookstore twice a week to see if they'd let me trade what I bought last week, because I was already done. I refuse to buy a bag that I can't fit at least 3 books in. ¹/²

When I was growing up reading was seen as uncool and a bizarre hobby for me to have. Even in my 20s I had to justify it. Whilst I'm glad so many people are getting into reading now because its awesome, a part of me gets annoyed with this new wave of people that think SJM is the be all and end all. 64 books read this year and because none of the them are ACOTAR or Fourth Wing, I'm not a real reader? 😑
