When I showed up, a cab was at the end of the driveway. He reluctantly got in my car, I asked why he called a cab in the first place when I promised I’d get him He said ‘I didn’t think you’d show up. No one has ever shown up for me like this before’ In that moment I realized he was being dead serious👇🏼

It was a big moment for me to realize how little he has had people show up for him, similar to a lot of men I have talked to. Through this, one lesson I’ve taken through our relationship is how deeply men need people to show up for them and how they often need to be nurtured as much as us as women (if not more).
