American culture is a living, breathing phenomenon, and Black Americans have been and continue to be central to its evolution. To deny their Americanness is to deny the very essence of what makes America what it is. We Black Americans are integral to the American cultural fabric. From music to politics, fashion to social justice, our contributions have defined what it means to be American. The richness of Black culture is not a deviation from American culture,it is American culture.
