It can depend on what shampoo & conditioner you are using too! A lot contain silicones and toxic ingredients, they are a man made plastic & act as a coating on the hair, so it may feel smooth but it is suffocating the hair, preventing moisture getting in, and in return it dries the hair out from the inside, which results in dry hair & split ends.
