If you found out your therapist had different political views than you, would you change therapists? Today I found out my therapist and I share the same views and it was a huge sense of relief that I could express freely how I’ve truly been feeling and handling the last couple of weeks.

My experience shows that it’s deiniltely possible to work effectively when therapist doesn’t have the same political view. I had a feedback from my client that she appreciated that I didn’t show if I had the same point of view or the different one. I consider the best option (at list for me as for Jungian analyst) is to be neutral and analyze what the client would feel if I shared the same or the opposite point of view.
