It used to be that you could only get a partner/spouse visa, if you already had a job offer paying at least 30,000 GBP per Annum. Not sure if that is still the case. You might need to speak to an immigration lawyer.

If you can work remotely and drive too, the countryside is amazing! West Country (in England) is beautiful, compared to the US, everywhere is relatively close to get to as we are small! Scotland is beautiful, and Wales, just take weather into account if that’s a factor, obvs further South is just slightly warmer 😬😂

To be fair, just because you hold a British passport doesn’t really mean much these days - let me explain it. My husband is British, we recently moved from Netherlands. I needed a spouse visa, it wasn’t as easy and cheap as everyone thinks. We did pay for a lawyer so you can skip that part and save some money, but at the time I was pregnant so I didn’t want to add more stress before I give a birth. You as British, you basically need to prove you can provide for the both of you.

The cost of living tends to be less the further North you go. We still have a long way to go in terms of wheelchair accessibility but in general companies respect the law and make public buildings as accessible as possible. The job market is tough right now, it depends what area you want to work in?

Don't bother with the UK. Go to any other European country and you'll have a much more pleasant life.

Scotland is beautiful and extremely welcoming. It’s not as crowded as England, rent costs are lower, schools are brilliant, university is free if you’re Scottish. It’s just wonderful
