One of the things that helped me out of the pit then was to remember that the majority ≠ everyone. The majority is so small here--maybe just a few hanging chads small. The whole country isn't in the laughing crowd at Madison Square Garden...way too many are... but it's not *everyone*. The United States is not full of horrible people. There are too many people who are too partisan, too triggered, too easy to fool. 2/3
